Hello, my name is Jeff Loquist and I have been involved in the Search Marketing industry since 2005. I got my start writing web copy through SEO Copywriters and then Certified Copywriting before breaking out on my own in 2006. Shortly after beginning my freelance career I realized the importance of Search Engine Optimization and began reading everything I could on the subject and testing my own website.

After moving from Iowa to Louisiana in 2008 I was hired on at ShoppersChoice.com as the “SEO guru”. Over the past few years I have honed my SEO chops in the highly competitive e-commerce industry and quickly moved up the ladder to Search Marketing Manager in charge of SEO, PPC and all other inbound traffic sources for the company.

With Zen Search Marketing my goal is to help not-for-profits, small businesses and other website owners discover the advantages of search marketing and learn how to properly employ strategies that will help their website grow. While many companies will tout their ability to “rank for high traffic terms” the goal of Zen Search Marketing is to determine which terms will provide you with the highest quality traffic and create targeted search strategies that will bring you the greatest returns.

Outside of Internet marketing I enjoy reading, studying Zen philosophy (which I have found can be adapted easily to the search marketing arena), minimizing my existence, blogging and making soap (that’s right…SOAP).

I do enjoy a good scotch, a fine cigar and great conversation (pretty much in that order).
